Sponsored by the Office of Justice, Equity, Belonging, and Identity (JEBI), the Future Faculty Institute seeks to empower prospective faculty from minoritized populations by providing a critical platform for them to explore academic departments, establish meaningful connections with faculty and staff, engage in research discussions and workshops, and immerse themselves in the vibrant community and campus culture of 17³Ô¹ÏÍø. Recognizing the importance of diversity in higher education, this program is dedicated to fostering equity and cultivating a sense of belonging within academia.
By addressing concerns raised by activists and acknowledging the calls for increased faculty diversity, our institute aims to contribute to the solution by creating a space where minoritized scholars can connect with academic departments, engage in research, and build a supportive network. We are committed to addressing the lack of representation of minoritized groups in academia and acknowledge that diverse perspectives enhance the richness of intellectual discourse.
This program seeks to break down barriers, eliminate disparities, and create an environment where all aspiring academics can thrive. By participating in this institute, individuals will not only gain valuable insights into their chosen fields but will also contribute to the creation of a more inclusive academic environment.
