Highlighted by the state-of-the-art Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex, 17³Ô¹ÏÍø boasts facilities that stand above peer institutions, exceeding those offered by many other Division I programs in the region and across the East Coast.

Indoor Facilities

The 3,536-seat Hart Center Arena serves as the home for the men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball teams. Renovated in 2016, the arena features a new flooring system, new lower-bowl retractable bleachers, Bose sound system, refinished ceilings and new banners.

The Carol & Park B. Smith '54 Sports Performance Center provides state-of-the-art fitness equipment for varsity athletic teams.

The Coach George Blaney ’61 Gymnasium offers a second practice and competition court for Crusader basketball and volleyball.

The Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex provides the College’s more than 700 student-athletes with space for practice, competition, training, recovery and wellness.

Renovated in 2016, the Hart Center Rink serves as the home for the men’s and women’s ice hockey teams and has a capacity of 1,600. The rink is open to the community at select times for open skating, figure skating, and recreational hockey.

One of just four facilities of its kind in New England and directly accessible from inside the Luth Athletic Complex, the Indoor Practice Facility includes 100 yards of turf, batting cages, and running lanes.

The Jo, which opened in 2021, contains sports courts, jogging track, weight rooms, locker rooms; and rooms for yoga, spinning, and other fitness classes. The center is home for all club and intramural sports, as well as recreation, fitness, and wellness programming for students, faculty, and staff.

Located inside the Luth Athletic Complex, the rowing tanks allow the men’s and women’s rowing teams to practice indoors year-round.

The innovative Sports Medicine Center provides student-athletes with the space to recover quickly and become more resilient to injury using top-of-the-line rehabilitation systems and equipment.

The swimming and diving teams practice and compete in the six-lane Hart Center Pool, which contains dual wave turbulent lane lines that are the standard 25-yard collegiate length. The pool also features a Colorado timing system which provides an electronic readout for all six lanes. A separate diving well contains two 1-meter boards and one 3-meter board.

Outdoor Facilities

The Donahue Rowing Center opened in 1992 as a center for rowing activities. It is located at the north end of Lake Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.

The storied 23,500-seat Fitton Field is considered to be the finest natural grass facility for viewing and playing college football in the Northeast.

Located behind the football stadium, Freshman Field is home to the softball team. In recent years, the softball field has seen the addition of new bleachers, a press box, and a permanent outfield fence.

Renovated in 2005, Fitton Field has a capacity of 3,000. The 17³Ô¹ÏÍø baseball team played its first game on this field in 1905. The Worcester Bravehearts, a collegiate summer baseball team, play their games on Fitton as well.

Located behind the Luth Athletic Complex, the Hart Turf Field and Hart Track are home to the field hockey and outdoor track and field teams. An eight-lane track surrounds the Astroturf field, which also features a scoreboard, spectator stands and lighting for night games.

Kuzniewski Field

Kuzniewski Field serves as the home of the men's and women's lacrosse teams, in addition to being the primary practice facility for the football team. Opened in 2009, the synthetic turf field is complete with lights, an updated sound system and seating for 1,000.

Located behind the Luth Athletic Complex, Smith Stadium features a natural grass field with spectator seating for 1,320 that spans both sides of the field. The stadium also features a press box, lighting for night games, a scoreboard and sound system.

tennis player

Built in 2008, the eight-court tennis facility features walkways around all the courts for superior fan viewing, lighting on four courts and fences on both sides of the facility.

Golf course green

The home course of the 17³Ô¹ÏÍø men’s and women’s golf teams since the 2016-17 season, Worcester Country Club stretches over 6,650 yards and plays to a par of 70. One unusual feature is the five par threes, which make the course play longer and tougher than the yardage indicates.
