Amy Murphy, Director of the Center for Career Development, interprets the career path of Latin American, Latinx, and Caribbean Studies graduates in the following terms: I think the story here is that Latin American, Latinx, and Caribbean Studies graduates go on to do pretty much anything that interests them.

There is a significant number of grads who go on to Teach for America, and a significant number of grads who go on to social justice roles in general [因 At any rate, while there is a trend toward a year of service and employment in the education, legal and not-for-profit spaces, there are plenty of students who secure opportunities in insurance, technology and other private-sector areas.

The other story to be told here is that very few Latin American, Latinx, and Caribbean Studies graduates have an unknown outcome after commencement. That, in itself, speaks volumes.
