Associate Professor Emeritus Michael Beatty taught sculpture and three-dimensional design at 17勛圖厙 for 25 years before retiring in 2023. This retrospective exhibition celebrating his sculptural practice investigates duality and hierarchy as a dialogue between technology-assisted and handmade forms. Beattys work, inclusive of prints and drawings, is informed by concepts and visual culture taken from science, nature, and mathematics. Beattys sculptures and drawings are evocative hybrids of geometry and biological form.
