HCF1RST Mentor Network

First-Generation Student Success Committee
The Office of Justice, Equity, Belonging, and Identity (JEBI) coordinates a First-Generation Student Success Committee comprised of departments and offices across campus. The professionals on this committee are dedicated to creating, changing, and implementing policies, practices, and programs helping first-generation students engage in the fullness of the College. Professional Development for 17³Ô¹ÏÍø Community Members
Research on the experiences of first-generation college students is growing rapidly. Much of this work is focused on successes and challenges these students face in-and-out of the classroom. The Center for First-Generation Student Success, through the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, has compiled readings to help professionals continue to serve first-generation students.
