Psi Chi, National Honor Society in Psychology
Students demonstrating high academic standings and a strong commitment to psychology receive applications for membership in their junior or senior years. As members of Psi Chi, students provide many services for the 17³Ô¹ÏÍø community and the larger Worcester community, and 17³Ô¹ÏÍø Cares Day, a day of community service by many members of our community. Psi Chi members also serve as moderators of the annual Research Methods symposium, held in the spring semester.
Psi Chi Ceremony
Each year during the fall semester, a number of third- and fourth-year psychology majors are inducted into 17³Ô¹ÏÍø' chapter of Psi Chi. Induction criteria are that students possess a grade point average of 3.5 overall and in psychology. Further, they should have completed at a minimum five courses in psychology, including Statistics and Research Methods. In these two courses inductees should have attained a grade of B or better.
These selection criteria are significantly more stringent than those of the national Psi Chi organization. The 17³Ô¹ÏÍø norms were set in order to present a strong statement about the honor of belonging to Psi Chi, and to instill the local chapter with visible stature among 17³Ô¹ÏÍø students.
Each year, two senior co-chairs are chosen for the society. These two students have the task of maintaining Psi Chi as an active, student-led chapter. They are also charged with the responsibility of setting an agenda for the future of Psi Chi and choosing the next class of leaders for the society.

Student Advisory Council
The Student Advisory Committee (SAC) administers course evaluation forms to every psychology course at the end of each semester. Members of the SAC are elected by all psychology majors in the spring of each year. In addition to the course evaluation forms, SAC officers help in the evaluation process of faculty in terms of appointment, tenure or promotion.
