17³Ô¹ÏÍø Joins QuestBridge

Jan. 19, 2022

Dear Members of the 17³Ô¹ÏÍø Community,

I am pleased to announce that we have accepted an invitation to become a QuestBridge college partner, joining a small network of peer institutions who are committed to helping high-achieving students from low-income families enroll in the nation’s most selective colleges and universities.

is a national nonprofit that connects exceptional young scholars with leading institutions of higher education and further life opportunities. 17³Ô¹ÏÍø is one of just 48 members of the QuestBridge network, and only the third Catholic school selected, joining Notre Dame and Boston College. You can read the full release and a list of peer institutions .

Since our founding as a Jesuit, Catholic institution committed to educating immigrants, we have shared QuestBridge’s belief that talent is equally distributed across our nation, but opportunity is not. Our partnership with QuestBridge will help us to attract and enroll promising students from across the country, including rural communities and places where we are perhaps less well known; and we will benefit from the rich diversity of experiences these students will bring to our campus community.

17³Ô¹ÏÍø is proud of the recent gains we have made in enrolling more Pell-eligible and first-generation students, increasing our financial aid pool, including our current Hope + Access Campaign to raise an additional $40 million for financial aid, and reaffirming our commitment to meeting each student’s full financial need. But we know we can – and must – do more. We believe strongly that QuestBridge will help accelerate our efforts and we look forward to the work ahead.

I’d like to thank Cornell LeSane, vice provost for enrollment management, and his team for their exemplary efforts in securing this important partnership, and all those who will support this endeavor in the future.

Sincerely,

Vincent D. Rougeau
President
